Search Contracts (FY 2000–2009)

Subsidyscope allows you to search contracts that may represent a subsidy. We do this by filtering government contracts and only including those that were not bid competitively on the open market. For the nonprofit sector, we further filter to only include contracts that went to nonprofit organizations or educational institutions (the latter are frequently miscategorized in government records as not being nonprofits).

Note: When using this feature, please bear in mind that Subsidyscope cannot guarantee the quality of the data published by the goverment; you may encounter errors or omissions.

Recipient Name / Project Description

Vendor Type

Because many institutes of higher education are nonprofits, a common data entry mistake surrounding reporting of government contract data is for a contract to be reported as going to a nonprofit or an institute of higher ed, but not both. For this reason we have included records that are flagged as belonging to either category. If you wish, you may alter this filter to produce a more selective result set.

Extent Competed

Not every contract represents a subsidy. The transactions most likely to contain a subsidy are those not subjected to open competition. Subsidyscope has indexed all contracts awarded under less-than-fully-competed conditions. If you wish, you may refine the selection further.
